LESSON 17: GAINING NEW IDEAS AND STRATEGIES

Keeping up with current trends and fads can be challenging in any section of a store. Although the terms are similar, trend and fad do have different meanings.

  • A trend is a behavior that evolves into a long-term or even permanent change.
  • A fad is generally considered to be a quick and short-term behavior.

Examples:

A trend = low-fat items

A fad = fat replacements such as Olestra
